A small idea, a big mission

I may only be one person, and my contribution may be small, but I have learned that we don’t always need to do something big to make a difference. Sometimes, we simply need to start with what we have - love.

My journey with Medjugorje began with a simple desire to visit a place that had become very special to my heart. Over the years, every visit has given me something new: a deeper faith, new friendships, and moments that stay with me long after I leave.

At Medjugorje, I discovered Mary’s Meals and became familiar with the beautiful work they do around the world. What touched me most was the simplicity of their mission: that every child receives one daily meal in their place of education. By providing a daily school meal to children who need it, Mary’s Meals encourages children to go to school and build a better future.

I loved the message, but I also loved the people behind it - the team in Medjugorje and the way they put their faith into action. Their work reminded me that sometimes a little act of love can make a much bigger difference than we imagine.

I wanted to support Mary’s Meals, but I also wanted to help share their message with other people.

That is when I had a small idea - I decided to make handmade keychains connected to Mary’s Meals. It started as a simple personal project, something I could create with my own hands and offer to people who wanted to support the mission. I honestly didn’t know how it would go, but people liked the keychains, and what started as a small idea became a beautiful way for me to contribute.

For me, the keychain is much more than a little souvenir. Every time someone carries one, I hope it reminds them of the children around the world who are waiting for something as simple and important as a meal.

I am grateful to Mary’s Meals for giving me the opportunity to be part of something bigger than myself. I may only be one person, and my contribution may be small, but I have learned that we don’t always need to do something big to make a difference. Sometimes, we simply need to start with what we have - love.

Children receiving their daily meal

Medjugorje brought me closer to Mary’s Meals, and Mary’s Meals showed me another beautiful way to live out that message of love: by helping those less fortunate than myself.

I am very thankful to the Mary’s Meals team in Medjugorje for their kindness, their dedication, and for allowing me to support their mission.

I hope this little idea of mine continues to carry a much bigger message:

No child should have to face the day hungry.

If something as small as a handmade keychain can help spread that message and bolster support for Mary’s Meals, then I am very happy that I started.
